Ken Levy, PhD

Ken has the unique ability to quickly synergize diverse technical and business data into a new, useful technology and IP. Based upon this ability, Ken has developed real-time software, as well as extensive experience in creation, prosecution, licensing and litigation of IP. Ken wrote all of AIPL's software, as well as having 20 issued patents, and 120 published worldwide patent applications. He has licensed IP for AIPL to several companies, including Digimarc, Pacific Handy Cutter, and Gadget Labs, as well as licensed IP for Digimarc to numerous partners, including Philips. His technical abilities and IP range from audio, digital watermarks, identity security to molded plastics.
Ken is currently developing audio, information and other visionary technology for AIPL. Ken co-founded AIPL in 1997. After licensing technology and IP to Digimarc in 2000, he ran AIPL and worked at Digimarc as Director of Technology and Business Development for 4½ years. He helped Digimarc create and manage the global licensing program. He also helped managed licensee partnerships, such as with Philips. Before AIPL and Digimarc, Ken worked at several small computer companies, even create a point-of-sale and accounting system for glass retailers in ‘91-’93.
Ken has also participated in and presented at numerous standards, including MPEG, DVB, EBU, DLNA and SDMI. Finally, Ken has presented at numerous Fortune 100 companies, including most major studios and record labels and as an invited speaker at AT&T/Bell Labs.
Ken has BS, MS, MSEE, and PhD degrees. Ken received his PhD in Biomedical Engineering - Computational Auditory Neuroscience - from Arizona State University in 1996 with a 4.0 GPA. He finished his Ph.D. in less than 3 years with 7 publications and 6 conference presentations. Ken received his MS in Biomedical Engineering and MSEE in Signal Processing from the University of Michigan in 1991 with a 6.98/9 GPA. Ken received his BS in Biomedical Engineering from Case Western Reserve University in 1987 with a 3.73 GPA. During his education he helped design the circuitry for the world's smallest thermometer, which is listed in the Guinness Book of World Records.
In summary, Ken is intrigued by every aspect of how people think, from neuroscience and psychology, to special effects, marketing and government. Back to top
Amy Weissfeld, MBA
  
Co-Founder, Marketing and Sales
Amy makes sure AIPL’s vision is economically viable based upon her extensive sales, marketing, public relations, and communication skills and experience. Her ability to manage multiple projects while keeping an eye on the big picture is extremely critical to the success of AIPL. She also has perseverance and integrity.
Amy has extensive experience in marketing and sales. Before co-founding AIPL, she was the National Sales Manager for Continental Promotion Group (CPG) from ‘95-’97. She successfully sold fulfillment services, including rebates, coupons & promotions, and signed clients that contributed over $15 million in billings. Clients included Sharp Electronics Corp, AT&T, NEC, Warner Home Video, US Robotics, Disney Interactive, Olga, and Hewlett-Packard. She also opened a West Coast office and increased West Coast market share, while working remotely. Amy worked as a promotion manager at CPG from ‘93-’95. Rounding out her experience, in ‘92-’93, she was an Assistant Account Executive at C&S Creative Services, an advertising agency, where she wrote copy, brainstormed creative ad ideas, negotiated photo shoots, bought media, conducted press checks, acted as advertising traffic manager. In ‘89-’90, she worked at Sheila Sloan Public Relations, where she collaborated on publicity events and developed & maintained news media/agency relationships
Amy’s education has helped her succeed. She received a BA in English from the University of Michigan, with a 3.8 GPA, in 1997. And earned an MBA from Arizona State University, with a 3.4 GPA, in 1991.
Finally, Amy’s integrity is shown in her public community service. She has been the President of the Chamber of Commerce Board (2001-present on Board, 2004 President), is on the United Way Board (2000-present), on the PDA (Public Districts Authority) Board for Wind River Nursery (2004-2006) where they are deciding what to do with a large, old nursery, helped lead the Rock Creek Playground Committee (2003-2004) where she and other parents raised funding and rebuilt the community playground, and has even been the past Democratic Candidate for County Commissioner.
